Not long now until our Apple & Cider Day!
The cider and perry for our Cider & Perry Bar has started arriving… and we’re getting very excited about the day! We thought we’d give you a little heads-up about our apple-themed competitions, so there’s plenty of time to get thinking, baking, preserving and fermenting!
APPLE-THEMED COOKERY COMPETITION
Anything containing apples goes! Sweet, savoury, cakes, puddings, pies… whatever you fancy making.
Children’s competition

And there’s the rather lovely Margaret Jenkins Memorial Cup up for grabs!
APPLE-THEMED PRESERVE COMPETITION
Jam, jelly, chutney or anything else apple-related — get your jars ready!
HOMEMADE CIDER COMPETITION
Got a batch of homemade cider you’re particularly proud of? Bring it along on the day and let the public decide!
Everyone will get the chance to taste and vote, and the cider with the most votes wins!
And there’s a trophy up for grabs — the Lawday Challenge Trophy!
ENTRY TO ALL THE COMPETITIONS IS FREE!
Entries need to be in by 2pm on the day
Cookery & preserves judging starts at 2.30pm
This year we’re very pleased to welcome Charlotte Morgan from Llandeilo Town Council, along with last year’s winners Jenny & Heather, who will be judging the cookery and preserve entries. So… time to get those thinking caps on and see what you can come up with!
