The Llandeilo Music Festival, celebrating its 26th year in 2026, is an annual eight-day celebration of instrumental recitals, chamber music, singing, and choral performances in one of Wales’s most attractive towns, redressing imbalances in musical provision by promoting British and European traditions through entertaining, high-standard shows. Founded 25 years ago by a passionate team, it has grown from modest beginnings into a national fixture, securing Llandeilo’s place on the musical map with a focus on great repertoire works, young Welsh choirs, and innovative events like open-air operas and jazz nights. Organized by a dedicated committee, it fosters community engagement through a successful schools outreach program, blending entertaining international-caliber artists with local talent to inspire audiences in the scenic Towy Valley.
For the 2026 edition, held from July 12 to 19, the festival continues its legacy of blending classical excellence with modern flair, offering a program of recitals, chamber concerts, and family-friendly workshops that highlight hidden gems of British and European music. Attendees can expect a mix of vocal virtuosity, instrumental innovation, and choral charm, all while supporting the festival’s mission to nurture young artists and elevate Dumfries and Galloway’s cultural scene.
